Hi,

I’m Dr Jessica Santos.

I am a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, a Specialist in Primary Care. I look after people of all ages and backgrounds. I enjoy the continuity of care that comes from being a general practitioner – I can look after you from before birth until the end of your life.

I have a special interest in supporting women during their pregnancy, transition to motherhood and beyond, and to care for their babies, children and families. I discovered the ‘Possums’ approach (Neuroprotective Developmental Care) shortly after my first child was born and found it to be a useful approach to breastfeeding difficulties, infant cry-fuss problems and sleep in the early years. I was inspired to upskill in this area and become a Neuroprotective Developmental Care Accredited Practitioner.

I have completed the Diploma of Child Health, additional training to be able to provide quality care for children from newborns to adolescents. I have also completed additional training in women’s, reproductive and sexual health as well as further mental health training. I completed an advanced rural skills year in anaesthetics, and am a non-practising GP anaesthetist.

I’m passionate about quality health care for our rural communities and am involved in clinical advocacy, through my role as Deputy Chair of the Healthy North Coast Clinical Council. I am involved in educating future general practitioners in my role as Supervisor with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. I completed the RACGP Future Leaders program.

When I am not at work, you can find me on our cattle farm with my husband and young family.

If you think I am the right GP for you, please make an appointment.
